What Is Orffie Performer Keyboard?
Orffie Performer Keyboard is designed for children aged 5 to 6 who are ready to move from early musical exploration into more structured keyboard learning.
Children begin learning to read simple music, play melodies and develop basic keyboard skills. They also have opportunities to play together with other children, helping them develop listening, teamwork and confidence.
What Your Child Develops
Orffie Performer Keyboard develops more than basic keyboard skills. Through music reading, playing together and performance opportunities, children build practical musical abilities alongside confidence and independence.
Musical Skills
- Music Reading: Recognise simple notes, rhythms and musical patterns.
- Keyboard Playing: Develop coordination and learn to play simple melodies and pieces.
- Musical Expression: Begin to play with greater confidence and musical awareness.
Confidence & Independence
- Focus & Attention: Follow instructions, listen carefully and stay engaged during lessons.
- Independent Playing: Gradually take greater responsibility for playing and practising.
- Performance Confidence: Become more comfortable sharing music with teachers, classmates and others.
Playing Together
- Ensemble Skills: Listen to others and play together as part of a group.
- Teamwork Work: cooperatively with classmates during musical activities.
- Enjoyment of Music: Experience the fun of creating and performing music together.
Performance Based Keyboard Program
Our performance-focused approach gives children opportunities to use the skills they develop in class, build confidence and enjoy sharing their music with others.
From Notes to a Complete Piece
Children learn to connect the notes they read with an actual melody, gradually working towards playing a complete piece rather than practising isolated exercises.
Learn to Play With the Group
Playing alongside classmates helps children listen carefully, follow the shared pulse and stay together while each child plays their own part.
Prepare, Practise, Perform
Children have a clear musical goal to work towards. Repeating a piece, improving it and eventually performing it helps them experience the full process of learning music.
Become Comfortable Being Heard
Young performers gradually get used to playing while others are listening. Regular opportunities to share their music make performing a familiar part of their musical journey.
Experience Music Beyond the Keyboard
Children encounter different pieces, composers and musical styles as they develop their playing, helping them understand that learning an instrument is also about discovering the wider world of music.
Hear Yourself Improve
Children can hear their own progress as familiar pieces become easier to play, helping them recognise what they have achieved and stay engaged with their learning.
